Proper coaching.
From the first touch.

Structured football sessions for children aged 4 to 16, in four age groups so every player learns at the right pace, with plenty of time on the ball.

Programmes

Four age groups for children aged 4 to 16, in two programmes. Beginners are welcome in every group.

TFA Foundation Football

Informed by the principles of The FA's England DNA Foundation Phase.

Fun Foundations, ages 4–6

Building Skills, ages 7–9

Developing Players, ages 9–12

TFA Youth Development

Informed by the principles of The FA's Youth Development Phase.

Youth Development, ages 12–16

Children aged 9 or 12 may suit either neighbouring group. Our coaches will recommend the right placement.

Age bands show where children usually start. They aren’t fixed training groups: on the day, we may group players differently by age, ability and numbers.

TFA is an independent academy. It isn't approved by, endorsed by or affiliated with The FA.

One-to-one coaching

Individual sessions built around your child's goals, from first touch to position-specific work. Privately arranged and separate from group membership.

How we coach

Every drill
has a reason.

Sessions build ball control, dribbling, passing, receiving, finishing and decision-making, with teamwork and confidence running through all of it. Players learn the why, not just the what.

The pathway
we're building

These are plans, not promises. Each step depends on enough players, venues, affiliation and County FA approval, and will be adapted by age.

  1. Development games

Games within each location. Festivals and fun events for younger players.

    Planned
  2. Inter-location fixtures

    Friendly fixtures between TFA locations.

    Planned
  3. Leagues & TFA tournament

For eligible older age groups, location league winners meet in a TFA tournament.

    Planned
  4. Wider competitions

Where suitable, selected teams enter grassroots and development competitions.

    Planned

A clear pathway for every player

Joining TFA guarantees a place on our coaching and development pathway, with support to build skills, confidence and teamwork. As we grow, we plan to introduce internal leagues, fixtures between TFA locations and external tournaments, alongside opportunities to be seen by invited scouts and clubs. Each player’s next steps will reflect their readiness, interests and available opportunities.

Family benefits

TFA families get 10% off with our local partners. Show your child's TFA membership card or its QR code when you pay. Each member will get a digital card, with a printed card available too.

Our partners are local businesses offering a benefit to TFA families. They are not part of the academy and are not involved in coaching.
